Cathy Robinson wins Passions photo comp
news July 2010
In a recent photo competition held on Facebook, Cathys photo of Nemo the Clownfish was judged the best by our Crew.
During the month of June passengers and Facebook fans were asked to send in photos they had taken while onboard Passions.
Cathy wins a Passions Prize Pack which includes a T-shirt, Cap, Stubby Cooler and a FREE trip on Passions when she next visits cairns.

Young Humpback Whale puts on Aerial Display
news Passengers who travelled on Tuesday 20th July were treated to an aerial display of epic proportions as a young Humpback Whale breached close to the boat during the sail back to Cairns.

Marine Bio and Dive instructor Kingsley estimated the young humpback to be around 10m in length.

There have been reports that over 15000 Humpbacks are heading this way, so its looking like it will be a bumper whale season.

First Whales of the season for Passions
news At 3.30pm on Sunday 12th July Passions spotted our first Humpback Whale of the season. Anyone who happened to be watching our Live Webcam will have also seen the whale, as dive instructor Dirk was manning the camera to get all the action.
Whales visit the warm tropical waters around Cairns each year as part of their annual migration from the colder southern waters. They travel some 8000km north to mate and give birth before turning around and heading south again to the food rich waters of the Antarctic

The Humpbacks Have Arrived

The first sightings of the Humpback Whales have started coming in as the Humpbacks make their annual migration north. There have also been reports that the famed white whale Migaloo is only weeks away. Lets hope Passions is lucky enough to see him this year.

Passions Wins Australian Tourism Award for Adventure Tourism
news Passions is extremely proud to have represented Cairns and Tropical North Queensland in two categories at the Australian Tourism Awards held in Hobart last Friday night. In a humbling experience Passions won the Australian Tourism award for Adventure Tourism and was named a finalist in the Major Tour and/or Transport Operator category.

After 21 years of dedication the entire Passions Team is extremely honored to receive this award. Passions of Paradise was recognised for innovation, excellence and above all, outstanding achievement and commitment to the Australian tourism industry.

At a monthly awards ceremony Russell has been awarded the Cairns Regional Tourism Association Award for Excellence in Customer Service.
It is never easy starting out as a dishwasher on Passions, but Russells hard work, dedication and love for the ocean has seen him rise through the ranks to become a fully qualified Dive Master. Russell is now living the dream and guiding our Certified Divers around the Great Barrier Reef.
Russell also goes in the running for the prestigious Kamsler Award in December. Well done Russell
Passions of Paradise Webcam Launched

The Great Barrier Reef will be seen live around the world as Passions of Paradise activates the Reefs first webcam. The camera will broadcast live HD video direct to the web. It will satisfy a demand by travel agents and the consumer to find out what conditions are like out on the Reef as well as promoting the destination to internet users globally. Mini Passions Is Launched
news Passions is proud to support NQ Sailing Last week our Passions Sponsored J24 Keelboat was officially launched at the Cairns Cruising Yacht Club.
NQ Sailing Inc is a non profit charity body that has a purpose of providing sailing boats, equipment and training to the community. The fleet of 6 boats, including mini Passions, are used to conduct Introductory Sailing Courses for Adults, with an organized curriculum that exposes students in a hands on experience. The rudiments of boat management and safety issues are a focal point.
Passions of Paradise is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the J24 program. We believe sailing is a fantastic sport and appeals to everyone. Passions of Paradise is committed to giving something back to our local community in return for many years of wonderful support. These particular boats provide amazing thrills and excitement and we encourage anyone who has a passion to sail to come and join the team.
